Our next three weeks were spent in Spain and Portugal. It was with great excitement that we met Ian, who had joined us from Zambia, at Madrid airport. We spent a night near the airport before heading south via Toledo, a beautiful old walled city, where we went for a long walk to soak in the unfamiliar environment. We then headed to Granada where we had three days to enjoy the city which has a rich multicultural history, We particularly enjoyed our day spent exploring the Alhambra and also our rather palatial accommodation in the middle of the city.
