Our Rainbow House

On the way back on the plane from Australia to Zambia we found ourselves sitting next to a fantastic Australian lady from Brisbane who was coming to Lusaka to work as Project Director for an Australian Based Charity called Our Rainbow House. Nicole has been a wonderful addition to our lives and keeps us grounded as she shares experiences and stories of living only 5km from our house in a school that has opened for 40 vulnerable children and orphans.

Whenever possible our family unit is helping Nicole help the children by providing her with some home comforts (such as running water) and some treats for the children. We have also visited the school and hope in the near future to provide some much needed very hands on support.

For those of you interested in helping out Rainbow House the donations are tax deductable in Australia and if you are interested when you are visiting us you can spend time at the school helping out with anything from reading to painting houses in the local community. There is a lot of information on their website and facebook page – where you will also find a few photos of the Harts.

  1. Hi Narelle,

As the PR manager for ORH and the acting treasurer would love to chat to you about ORH. Could you email me on owenbobeldyk@19degrees.com.au a phone number and if there is a time we can chat this week that would be great. Cheers Bubbles.
